Hungry

Hungry for mail
Hungry for news

Hungry for love
Please write!

Thanks to e-mail, these poor old letter boxes are going hungry these days! This one can actually be dated, like most of the older British mailboxes. The initials on the front tell you which monarch was reigning at the time. This one is marked VR: Victoria Regina, so we know that it was installed prior to 1901. In fact, I know that this pillarbox was installed in the 1870s! For us in the Americas that seems a very great age indeed.

New

New career, new computer, new world.
Since I do love to capture flowers, I thought this might be the best one to open my blog.
It was also the way I started my day during my recent stay in Bournemouth, England. Mary (our B&B host at the Whately Hall Hotel) put fresh flowers in our rooms and on our breakfast tables. Whether day started off with sunshine or rain, it was always a happy place with these sunny faces to greet us.

And that is the way I want to start this.
